Steve Khan enjoys using humour to make people more comfortable about sexuality, race and gender. He acknowledges this tends to reposition those with privilege to experience what it’s like to be without it. He works with text, drawing and video.
He is a graduate from the joint Art and Art History program at the University of Toronto and Sheridan College and has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Canada and the US. In 2019, his solo exhibition, The motion of light in water, was presented at Art Square Gallery in Toronto. Another solo exhibition called SHAME IS FOR BEGINNERS was presented at Pegasus in Toronto in 2019, at Cedar Ridge Gallery in Scarborough in 2015. He is the recipient of an Ontario Arts Council Exhibition Assistance Grant and has participated in the Spark Box Residency in Picton.
